Watch the miles fly by on Trek's amazing Madone 5.2 Compact. Sporting Trek's OCLV carbon frame, this road rocket boasts ingenious technology for a superior ride, such as a 90mm-wide bottom bracket for maximum efficiency and integrated headset and bottom bracket cups with bearings that simply press into the frame to save weight and reduce maintenance. The seatmast accomplishes compliance for supreme comfort while also stiffening up the frame. And, this trick machine is equipped with Bontrager's corner-carving Race X Lite fork and Shimano's Ultegra 10-speed components for flawless shifting and braking. You'll love the aero Bontrager Race wheels, too; they're light, they're fast and they ride incredibly well.
Bontrager's Race X Lite Carbon Fork is light, stiff and rides beautifully, thanks to its ingenious steerer, which uses the standard 1 1/8-inch diameter at the top combined with a 1 1/2-inch diameter at the bottom where the fork meets the crown. This reduces the stresses placed on the fork, significantly increases strength and saves weight by reducing the amount of carbon required and eliminating the need for additional reinforcement. Trek's oversize E2 head tube adds strength and stiffness. The result is an unbelievably stiff and super-light front end.
|Trek's Madone features a unique bottom bracket (image, right) that's 90mm wide (traditional ones are 68mm wide). This wide bottom bracket lets Trek build the frame with larger tubes for increased power transfer. Plus, the 90mm bottom bracket is machined so that the bearings can be placed directly into the frame (image) saving weight (due to fewer parts, below), ensuring additional pedaling efficiency and simplifying maintenance and repair.|
This manufacturer's chart helps you check the fit (may show unavailable, and/or not all sizes).
Whether you're looking for the most aero riding position, to sit as upright as possible, or anywhere in between, with Trek's H1, H2 and H3 fits, there's a Madone that's perfect for you.
H1 (see yellow dots on illustration) is Trek's most aggressive, most aero fit, with the lowest handlebar-position options.
H2 (orange dots) is the right fit for most riders. It sports the same handling as the H1 fit, with a slightly taller head tube that puts the handlebars higher.
H3 (red dots) boasts an even taller head tube and higher bars than H2 and a small handling adjustment for even more stability.

I am a marathon runner who has made the switch to biking because of an orthopedic problem. I tried 2 other brands and the Madone 5.2 was by far the best. It is very light and shifts incredibly smooth. I am hoping to race with it next year when my bike fitness gets there.

This is an ultimate sweet ride. Traded in an '06 5.2 Madone for '12 5.2 Madone. Was blown away by the difference. Lighter, faster, handles with ease. Road the same course that I rode with my '06 that included cobblestones and climbs. The difference was amazing. Absorbed all of the shock of riding on stones. This bike wants to ride and climb. Quick accelerations and superb handling and cornering.

I bought the Madone 5.2 after buying a Neuvation FC100 roadbike. What a difference! For just a few more dollars you get a much, much better bike that is well engineered, whisper quiet and a pleasure to ride. If you are considering a new bike, be sure to test ride a Madone. Don't waste your time on no-name bargains that will drive your crazy with creaks and groans.

The bike is fast and very stable. Stock bike comes with excellent components at a great price. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and the folks at High Gear Millburn, NJ are the best. Great customer service, knowledge, custom fitting and selection. I must have test road six or seven different road bikes before the Modone 5.2 called my name. Give it a try you will not be sorry.
