The Bike Rack has grown from a seasonal business into a thriving year-round operation. When Hal Honeyman was a college student working part-time at the shop, he convinced his parents to purchase the business. Today, its success extends far beyond retail.

"When we bought The Bike Rack, we never imagined the journey ahead," says Honeyman. "Our family business has become a community hub that creates mobility opportunities for everyone."

The family transformed the shop. Hal's father maintained his full-time position while managing the store's finances. His mother left her job to operate the shop. Today, The Bike Rack is a full-service bicycle shop committed to the cycling community.

The celebration will feature food, beer, live music by Jake Mack, and remarks from Mayor Clint Hull and representatives from Trek Bikes, and Fox Valley Bike Club.

RSVPs are appreciated. For more information and to RSVP, call Hal at (630) 584-6588.

The next day, Sunday, May 18th, The Bike Rack and Project Mobility will host the 13th Everybody Rides event.

Project Mobility provides adaptive cycling opportunities for children, adults, and wounded veterans with disabilities.

"The 50th anniversary celebration and Everybody Rides event showcase what we’re all about—bringing the joy of cycling to everyone, regardless of ability," adds Honeyman.

Everybody Rides features routes from a family-friendly 1.6-mile ride to 62-mile rides. Afterward, the Party in the Park will feature an adaptive bike giveaway, food, a beer garden, live music, raffles, and more.
